Welcome to STEM In The Library!
Research shows that there is a powerful link between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and early childhood education. It has been proven that children who learn STEM skills early on are better prepared for school and future careers. Libraries are considered a neutral and safe place for people to come.
Science, Technology, English, &Math (Money!)
We focus on STEM a little different that others. We enhance STEM by also increasing students ELA skills, ( which helps all STEM areas) and we teach the basics of money, and personal finance

Our Programs
SCIENCE
Science enables us to develop our interest in, and understanding of, the living, material and physical world and develop the skills of collaboration, research, critical inquiry, experimentation, exploration and discovery.
TECHNOLOGY
We teach and learn about all kinds of technology including engendering, computers, robotics, automotive, and more. We include technology projects so that students can apply what they learn into hands on projects.
ENGLISH
English language competence enables students to comprehend lectures, textbooks, and research materials in STEM fields more easily. Participate in classroom discussions and collaborate with peers more effectively. Develop scientific writing and presentation skills to disseminate research.
MONEY
We know the importance of math, what is even more important is understanding the math in money! If students learn about personal finance, saving, investing and budgeting, they will be better off when they grow up. This is why we explore the math in money in the library!

Why is the STEM so important?
STEM Teaches Critical Thinking and Innovation
The focus on logical thought processes and problem-solving allows students to develop mental habits that will help them succeed in any field. STEM coursework challenges students to think critically and come up with their own solutions.

STEM(S) GROW (JOBS)
In 2021, there were nearly 10 million workers in STEM occupations and this total is projected to grow by almost 11% by 2031, over two times faster than the total for all occupations. They also pay substantially more: Median annual wages as of May 2021 were $95,420 for STEM occupations, compared to $40,120 for non-STEM occupations.
SCIENCE PAYS!
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment growth for those shown in the chart to be faster than the average for all occupations (2.8%) from 2022 to 2032. These scientists typically need at least a bachelor’s degree to enter the occupation, with a few requiring graduate degrees. And each paid more than the median annual average wage of $46,310 in 2022.
